The Social Justice and Outreach Committee will be hosting a Soup Lunch Sunday September 13, after the service in the Lower Hall.

Proceeds will be going to the Benevolent Fund. Suggested donation $8. Take-out available.

We are looking to hire a new children’s Program Coordinator

• 3-4 hrs per week, $25/hr

• onsite Sundays 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, Sept – June (dates negotiable)

• police clearance required (cost covered)

• curriculum provided, with the freedom to adapt and get creative!

• church members present to assist as needed; class size is small

• flexibility to take Sundays off; can accommodate academic year

The coordinator leads a small group of children in age-appropriate exploration of Christian spirituality. The coordinator is free to incorporate crafts, conversation, movement, cooking, music and more in order to explore sacred stories, holidays, traditions and justice issues. The coordinator needs to work well with children, be organized, reliable and self-motivated.

Seeking Justice Together Conversation Group

All are welcome to join with Rev. Catherine at the Kingston East Community Centre on Mondays at 10:45 am for engaging conversations about scripture and life!  A meaningful way to enhance your experience of Sunday worship services. Hope to see you there!

Our Choir is looking for new members!

The Sydenham Street United Church Choir is growing — and we’d love to add some new voices! There’s no need to be a professional singer. If you enjoy singing and can commit to regular rehearsals, we’d love to have you join us. Come to a rehearsal and see what you think. Bring your voice. We’ll take care of the rest!

Looking for a Simple Way to Make a Big Difference?

  • The Helen Tufts Child Outreach Program is looking for a few friendly volunteer drivers on Monday or Wednesday evenings. It’s just a 1–2 hour commitment – you’d simply drive children to the program and/or bring them home again. This program is located at SSU. Reliable transportation helps remove barriers for these kids, and your help can open the door to their full participation. If you’re curious, interested, or want to learn more, reach out to helen.tufts@sydenhamstreet.ca
