What is Small Group Ministry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Small Group Ministry has been a long-standing feature of our church life.  It is a way to join with others in the pursuit of common interests or spiritual development. Some groups meet monthly, some more frequently. Small groups will start anew this fall; some new groups are in the early stages of development. Check the weekly bulletin for the latest about the small groups available at SSUC. For more information, please get in touch with a given group\u2019s coordinator or the Church OfMice:

CLIMATE CRISIS<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A group of folks interested in discussing the climate crisis, looking for ways to support one
another and to seek action.

COMMUNITY GARDEN<\/strong> at SYDENHAM STREET UNITED CHURCH \/ THE SPIRE<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n

Our Garden<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Volunteer weeders and garden contemplaters\u00a0 are always welcome – – and needed.\u00a0\u00a0 The Project Community Garden is growing and\u00a0 the harvest will be donated\u00a0 to The Loving Spoonful.\u00a0The\u00a0Community Garden<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0was a student run project, which worked in partnership with Sydenham Street United Church. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0HIKERS<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The hiking group meets the second Friday of the month at 11 am. They meet and hike for about an hour and a half in the Canadian Shield and in the city. Lunch follows at a nearby restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MOVIES AND DINNER<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On the last Sunday each month, meet at the Screening Room for the movie of your choice that starts about 4 p.m. and afterwards gather at a downtown restaurant for dinner and conversation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

EVENING BOOK GROUP<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Zoom meetings are one Tuesday evening a month to share personal responses to a book that everyone has read. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRAYER SHAWL GROUP<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Prayer Shawl Ministry group<\/a> meets on the lastWednesday of the month at 3:00 pm. for tea, knitting or crocheting
shawls and conversation. Finished shawls are blessed and gifted to congregational members.

The Fixers meet on Thursdays from 1:00 \u2013 3:00 p.m. at the church for a time of work and social interaction as we do those small things that make our church space safer and attractive.\u00a0 Coordinator: Walter Schmid <\/p>\n\n\n
